Paris Catacombs Tickets

Tour operators

Paris Catacombs tickets and tours, compared

Five tour companies and the official ticket office sell visits to the Paris Catacombs, and all of them meet on Place Denfert-Rochereau. They are not interchangeable: the official timed ticket is the cheapest way in but sells out within its seven-day window, while the guided tours add a live guide and gates opened into restricted areas, in groups from six to nineteen. Here they are side by side, with each company's French Atout France registration checked on its own site.

Guided tours with special or restricted access

Guided Catacombs tours add a live English-speaking guide, skip-the-line entry and gates opened into restricted areas that standard ticket holders never see. They differ mainly in group size, from six people to nineteen, and in price.

Prices are the live partner prices on 27 October 2026. The Catacombs can close at short notice during strikes; tour operators contact booked guests when they can. Prices are "from" prices per person unless the card says it is priced per group; ratings and review counts as captured October 27, 2026. "From" is the cheapest published adult price on the operator's own site; where an operator doesn't publish prices we say so rather than guess. "What you get" is the access each company's own site describes; prices are in euros per person, and figures marked indicative were converted from the operator's US-dollar price.

Which tour?

Choose the right Catacombs ticket or tour

The right Catacombs visit comes down to three things: your budget, whether you want a live guide and the restricted areas, and how small a group you want. These are the trade-offs, with the companies that do each one best.

Cheapest way in

The official ticket from Catacombes de Paris is €31 with the audio guide, sold online seven days ahead. If your date is outside that window or sold out, the reseller entry ticket gives the same visit for about $43.

A guide without paying the most

ExperienceFirst sells its guided special access tour from €139 on its own site, The Tour Guy from about $150, and Walks runs the most-reviewed one, with an underground chapel and quarrymen's carvings, for up to 14 people.

The smallest group

Memories France caps its restricted access tour at seven from €189.90 and rates 4.9 on Google Maps; LivTours runs a semi-private tour for about six with the highest listing rating, 4.91.

Named restricted rooms

The Tour Guy is the one company that names its rooms: two restricted chambers, including the Crypt of Passion. Groups go up to 19, so it is not a small-group tour.

Every visit, official or guided, means 130 steps down and 112 up with no lift, about 14 °C underground, and no large bags: there are no lockers. No company can take you into the closed quarry network; that is illegal.

Operators

The companies, and how to book them directly

These are the Paris Catacombs tour operators you can also book directly, all meeting at Place Denfert-Rochereau. Each profile gives the company's own-site price and, where it is published, its Atout France registration.

Place Denfert-Rochereau — at the Catacombs entrance

Every Catacombs tour meets on or beside Place Denfert-Rochereau, at the entrance at 1 avenue du Colonel Henri Rol-Tanguy or a café facing it, across from Denfert-Rochereau Metro and RER.

Semi-private, restricted chambers Licence not listed 4.9 ★ · 205 reviews (GetYourGuide)

An American-Italian tour company (LivItaly Tours LLC) running a semi-private, 90-minute Catacombs tour with VIP access to restricted chambers. It has the highest rating of any Catacombs tour with real volume, 4.91 from 205 reviews. Its site shows a Rome agency authorisation and a California seller-of-travel number rather than a French registration. Also bookable on GetYourGuide ($234, 4.9★, 205 reviews) →

How we checked licences. In France, a company that sells travel packages or organised tours must be registered with Atout France, the national tourism agency, and print its IM registration number. We looked for it on each operator's own website; several Catacombs operators are American or Italian companies selling into Paris and publish their home-country registrations instead. 1 of 6 publish one — shown above. Catacombes de Paris (official), LivTours, ExperienceFirst, The Tour Guy, Walks (WalksDevour): real, reviewed operators that don't list a number publicly; we mark them unverified rather than omit them. We excluded aggregators and booking portals, which are not operators.

Left out. Walking-tour companies that rank well on Google Maps for Paris but run no Catacombs tour were left out, as were resellers and combo sellers that do not run their own guided visits. Two tour companies with Catacombs pages were not listed because their own sites could not be read to confirm prices.

Disclosure. Direct prices and ratings are from operators' own sites and public review platforms (checked October 27, 2026). Online prices, ratings and review counts are GetYourGuide's, captured October 27, 2026; booking through those links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you, and it never changes the order. Always confirm current price, schedule and what's included with the operator before booking. Machine-readable version (JSON)
